Unless you’re living alone in a cave, you are part of a society. Society is a group of people unified in their beliefs, language, community, or a combination of different factors. In a traditional sense, a society was a group of people who lived close together, but with globalization and the Internet, virtual societies have been formed. Do you know the definition of a feudal society? Typical, sociologists classify society in three categories: pre-industrial, industrial, and postindustrial, which is what we are living in today.

In some countries, social classes exist, like India’s Caste system, which determines a person’s role and worth in a society. In America, economic social classes exist, like middle and lower class incomes.
