A horizontal stem of a plant will grow a new plant.

Cells divide to make duplicates of themsleves like a cut on a hand healing. ~New cells are genetically identical to the parent cells.

Two parents create an offspring. ~The new organism will be similar to the parent but NOT identical. ~There is greator genaetic variabilitywith the offspring. ~An egg and sperm combine to form a fertilized egg to make an offspring.

Selecting organisims with desired traits to be the parents of the next generation of that offspring.
