What is a democracy and how does it work?
|
A democracy means that the citizens of the state or country vote to elect people to run the government. The voters can decide if issues should be passed or not by a majority vote.

The constitution is a set of laws that explains how the United States government should work. It also protects the rights of individuals and their welfare. The introduction is call the Preamble. It includes some of the basic ideas about government.
