Where came ye?
From a lodge of the Holy Saints John at Jeruselem
What came ye here to do?
To learn to subdue my passions and improve myself in Masonry
Then ye are a Mason I presume?
I am so taken and accepted among brothers and fellows
What makes ye a Mason?
My obligation
Where were ye made a Mason?
In a legally constituted lodge of ancient, free and accpeted Masons
Where were you first prepared?
In my heart
Where next?
In a room adjouning a legally constituted lodge of Ancient, Free, and Accepted Masons
How were ye prepared?
By being divested of all minerals and metals; neither naked nor clothed, barfoot nor shod, hoodwinked with a cable tow about my neck in which condition I was led to a door.
Being hoodwinked, how did you know it was a door?
By first meeting with resistance, afterwards gaining admission.
How did ye gain admission?
By giving 3 distinct knocks from without which were answered by a like number from within with the question "who comes here?"
Your answer?
Alvin Joseph Eisenrauch a poor blind candidate who desires to be brought from darkness to light, who wishes to receive a part of the rights and benefits of this right worshipful lodge erected to God and dedicated to the Holy Saints John as many brothers and fellows have done before me.
What was then ask ye?
Was it of my own free will and accord I made this request, was I duly and truly prepared, worthy and well qualified, of lawful age and properly vouched for. All of which being answered in the affirmative, I was asked by what further right I expected to gain admission?
Your answer?
By that of being a man, free-born of good report and well recommended.
What was then told ye?
To wait a time with patience until the Worshipful Master was informed of my request and his answer returned.
What was his answer?
Let him enter and be received in due form
