1. Modeling: be a professional; teachers are out models.2. Moralizing: entire code of values. 3. Laissez-faire: "I don't care attitude!"4. Rewarding and punishing: used a lot in parenting.5. Responsible choice: encourage kids to explore their values. Teaches kids to way their consequences.

The right to self-determination (respect patient right to their decision.)

The respect for inherent worth and uniqueness of all people.

Bioethics that is at the bedside. Common ethical issues: end of life care, DNR/ DNI, abortion, etc.

1. Autonomy: respect right of patient and surrogates.2. Nonmaleficence: cause no harm.3. Beneficence: benefit the patient, wave risk & benefits. 4. Justice: act fairly. 5. Fidelity: keep promises (e.g. never abandon a patient).

The ability to behave in an ethical way.
