What are the movements of the scapula?
Abduction(Protraction), Adduction(retraction), Downward Rotation, Upward Rotation, Elevation and Depression.
What is Lateral Tilt? When does it occur?
Happens during abduction, scapula rotates about its vertical axis resulting in posterior movement of medial border adn anterior mocement of lateral border
What is Medial Tilt? When does it occur?
During extreme adduction. The scapula rotates about its vertical axis resulting in anterior movement of medial border adn posterior movement of lateral border.
What is anterior tilt? When does it occur?
Rational movement of scapula about frontal axis occuring during glenohumeral hyperextention. Superior border moving anteroinferiorly and inferior angle moving posterosuperiorly.
What is posterior tilt? When does it occur?
Rational movement of scapula about frontal axis occuring during glenohumeral hyperflexion. Superior border moves posteroinferiorly. Inferior border moves anterosuperiorly.

What are the primary muscles involved in shoulder girdle movement?
Trapezius, rhomboids, levator scapula, serratus anterior, pectoralis mmonor
What are the origin and insertion points for the upper fibers of the trapezius? What actions do they contribute to?
O: Base of skull. External Occipital Puterberance and posterior ligaments of neck. I: Posterior aspect of lateral 3rd of clavicle. Action: Elevation and extention of neck
What are the origin and insertion points for the middle fibers of the trapezius? What actions do they contribute to?
O: Spinous process of the 7th cervical vertebrae and upper 3 thoracic vertebrae. I: Medial border of the scapular spine Action: Elevation, Adduction and upward rotation
What are the origins and insertion points for the lower fibers of the trapezius? What actions do they contribute to?
O: spinous process of the 4th-12th thoracic vertebrae. I: triangular space at the base of scapular spine Action: Adduction, depression and upward rotation.
Tapezius

What are the Origin and insertion points for the Lavator scapulae? What action does it contribute to?
O: transverse process of the upper 4 cervical vertebrae. I: medial border of the scapula Action: Elevation
