What is a Back Dune?
What is a Foredune?
It is the behind the foredune.
Foredunes (also called fore-island dunes or primary frontal dunes) are the first clearly distinguishable, vegetated dune formations landward of the water. They are also the first to dissipate storm-generated wave and current energy. Although foredunes may be large and continuous, they typically are separate rounded knolls.

There are two forms of waves what are they and what are there functions?
Constructive Waves- Thet are created in calm weather and less powerful than destructive waves. They break on the shore and deposit material, building up beaches.
Destructive Waves- Destructive waves are created in storm conditions, they are created from big, strong waves when the wind is powerful and has been blowing for a long time.

What is Long shore drift?
Longshore drift transport of sediment, mainly sand.

When the waves front bends to fit the coastline.
What is a Rip?
A rip are localised, fast-flowing currents that run out towards the seabed. Rip currents depend on the height and duration of the waves & on the contours & shapes of the seabed

A ridge of sand created by the wind; found in deserts or near lakes and oceans
