What are the uses of the Preterite tense?

1. beginning or end of an action
-Empezamos a bailar. - We bagan to dance.
-Cerrararon la puerta. - They closed the door.
2. completed action
-Fui al cine anoche. - I went to the movies last night.

3. There is no accent mark in the 1st and 3rd person singular in the preterite tense of the word ver.
