Leonardo Da Vinci was a artist and scientist, he was born on April 15, 1452 in Vinci, Italy. Vinci was very famous for his artwork in the time of the High Italian Renaissance. He was most well known for the Mona Lisa painting and the Last Supper. Many artists were only very famous once they were dead, not alive. Vinci was extremely famous when he was alive and still now meaning when he passed away. Leonardo was first interested in art at a very young age. Whenever he first studied or learnt about a subject in art, he would always keep track of it in a journal. There were many thousands of pages in that journal, he had so many amazing drawings in his journal such as designs of hang gliders, helicopters, war machines, musical instruments, various pump.He died on May 2, 1519 in Amboise, Kingdom of France.

Michelangelo was born on March 6, 1475 in Caprese, Italy. He was a famous sculpture in the time of the Italian Renaissance. Michelangelo only got famous when he started working for Ghirlandaio for many years. His most famous artwork was the statue of Pieta, still very famous to this day. The Pieta statue is placed in the St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. Another extremely famous statue of Michelangelo is The Statue of David. No one fully expected that the Statue of David would be finished, he kept a big secret the whole time he was creating the sculpture. He died on February 18, 1564 in Rome, Italy.

Jan van Eyck was born on 1395. Jan van Eyck was most known for his oil paintings. Because of how amazing his oil paintings were, people got very inspired by it. They started to call him “The Father of Oils”. Not only did Jan van Eyck oil paint, he also painted very detailed work this is when his reputation went up. He died in 1441.

Masaccio was born on 1401. Masaccio was an outstanding painter, he was one of the most well known painters, he was even known as the "father of Renaissance painting”. Masaccio learnt how to paint objects that look the same in life. He was also one of the most well known person to create how to shadow a painting and how to make light look real in paintings. He died in 1428.

Botticelli painted many portraits in the start of the Italian Renaissance. Most of his paintings were made for the Medici Family. The Sistine Chapel at the Vatican in Rome was a big part of him becoming a successful artist. He had many great paintings, but another extremely important work was The Birth of Venus. He died in 1519.

Raphael was born on April 6, 1483 Urbino, Italy. He was a main artist in the time of the Italian Renaissance. Raphael was considered one of the three masters of the High Renaissance. He painted lots of paintings over the years when he became very well known. Raphael died in 1520.

Caravaggio was born on September 29, 1483. He was an Italian artist in the tim of the Italian Renaissance. He was very well known for his thousands of paintings, especially because all of his paintings had to be perfect which drew lots of attention to people. One of his many paintings were The School of Athens. He died on 1520.

Giotto was born on July 1266. Giotto was a extraordinary painter and architect. He actually painted in the Middle Ages and committed his piece to the Italian Renaissance. He was extremely focussed on his career and kept on pushing to get to his career to be an amazing painter. He was very successful and achieved his goal of becoming a famous artist. He died on January 8, 1377.
