Pioneer of Attribution theory (1958). He looked at "Commonsense psychology" which is used on a daily basis to explain why what took place, took place.
Inferring Traits
When talking about yourself you typically attribute things to the situation but when talking about someone else we look at there disposition.
Correlational research
Studying relationships between things in nature or things found. This will show how strong the relationship may be but it won't tell you why. You don't learn cause and effect with this.
Experimental research
Is good for looking at cause and effect. In this type of research you change, alter, manipulate one factor (independent variable) while holding the other thing you are looking at constant in order to see the effects the indepenedent variable has on the dependent variable.
