A simple sentence is a sentence that has one independent clause.

An independent clause is a group of words that 1) makes complete sentence (sense)2) has a subject + predict (verb)

It means one verb and one subject.Example: The dog ate beans.( red verb,subject orange)

What is a compound verb?

A compound verb simply means there is more than one verb in the sentence. A verb is an action word so basically, in order for a sentence to have a compound verb it needs to be telling two things that the subject did. CS = Cory and Candy went to the lake. More than one thing or person doing the action in the sentence.
