Why do you have more mucus on the lining of your stomach than on the lining of your esophagus
|
-You have more mucus on the lining of your stomach than the lining of your esophagus, because your stomach produces acids to break down food. You do not want only a little bit of mucus on the lining of your stomach because then your stomach would break itself down by using the acids. The mucus helps to stop the acids breaking down the stomach, which is why you have more mucus on the lining of your stomach than the lining of your esophagus.
