FRUIT

The organ in angiosperms that contains seeds. A true fruit is the product of the development of the ovary wall and the seeds are fertilised ovules.

PSEUDOCARP
|
A false 'fruit' which has developed from the receptacle and not the ovary wall (eg apple).

PERICARP

The fruit wall, usually consisting of the exocarp, mesocarp,and endocarp.
