Occlusal film
· an intraoral film used to examine large areas of the maxilla or mandible. In this technique the patient “occludes” or bites on the entire film.

Localization techniques
Radiographic techniques used to determine the buccal or lingual relationship of an object
MANDIBULAR CROSS-SECTIONAL OCCLUSAL PROJECTION
Used to examine the buccal and lingual aspects of the mandible and locate foreign bodies or salivary stones in the floor of the mouth
MANDIBULAR PEDIATRIC OCCLUSAL PROJECTION
A type of occlusal projection used to examine the anterior teeth of the mandible and is recommended for children aged 5 years or younger
MANDIBULAR TOPOGRAPHIC OCCLUSAL PROJECTION

Used to examine the palatal roots of the molar teeth and locate foreign bodies or lesions in the posterior maxilla
MAXILLARY PEDIATRIC OCCLUSAL PROJECTION
Used to examine the anterior teeth of the maxilla and is recommended for children aged 5 years or younger
MAXILLARY TOPOGRAPHIC OCCLUSAL PROJECTION
· used to examine the palate and anterior teeth of the maxilla.
Right angle technique
· a localization technique in which the orientation of structures can be seen in two radiographs (one periapical and one occlusal)
