Crewatts are responsible in maintaining safety, comfort, and inflight services to all passengers and crew. The main duty is to ensure the safety and survival of all passengers in a emergency situation. Other dutys involve: Provision of food and drink, loading and unloading passengers, compiling aircraft documentation, observing aircraft and cabin condition, communication with aircraft captain, cleaning and 34SQN only calculation of aircraft weight and balance

-Learn to adjust to a military lifestyle
-Learn basic knowledge, skills and physical fitness to perform future roles in the airforce.
-Develop values, attitudes and personal qualities required for a RAAF member
-Outdoor training practical skills: drill- weapon handling and firing, airfield defence, fire fighting, abseiling and fitness.
-Formal classroom lessons on RAAF knowledge, military law, personal admin, interpersonal skills and first aid.

Aviation Medicine- 1 week Edinburgh
-make aware of physiological effects.
-theory and pratical exposure using hypobaric chamber


Aircrew Enviromental Survival and Aircrew Combat Survival Course- 3 weeks, Townsville QLD.
- train crew who may be separted from friendly forces in a combat enviroment
- challenged both physically and mentally.

Airman Aircrew Initial Course- 2 weeks 285SQN Richmond NSW.
- Introduces students to a variety of aviation principles; air traffic control; meteorology; first aid ; basic theory of flight.

CREWATT Basic Course- 2 weeks Conducted by 285SQN at 34SQN Fairbairn ACT.
This phase covers: general service knowledge, wine education, RSA, crewatt duties, meal service procedures, ground safety and basic food handling.

CREWATT Aircraft Conversion Course- 10-22 weeks at Fairbairn or Amberley.
-Commence ground and air training.

Mustering Crew Attendant or Logistics Supply

Handle the movement, storage and stock control of large quantities of equipment using the latest techniques.
-being part of a team responsible for placing and progressing orders for customers
-processing base demands
-operating forklifts
-storage, packaging, despatch and transporting material
-Using airforce computerised stores

Pay Grade 2- after completion of IET
Pay Grade 3- completion of 12 mths pst IET
Pay Grade 4- on promotion to Sergeant and completion of further supply training.
