What is Vaule Delivery Network?
Network made of company, suppliers, distributors, customers - to improve the performance of entire system.
What is Marketing Channel (Distribution Channel)?
Set of interdependent org. that help make product/service available to be used by customer or business.
How does Channel Members add value?
By bridging the major time, place, and possession gaps that separate goods and services from those who would use them.

A layer of intermediaries that perform work in bringing product and ownership closer to final buyer.
What is Direct marketing Channel?
Marketing Channel that has no Intermediary levels.
What is Indirect marketing Channel?
Channel containing one or more intermediary levels.

Disagreement amoung marketing channel members on goals and roles.

Occurs amoung firms at the same level of channel. (Holiday Inn complains about other Holiday Inns)

Conflicts between different levels of the same channel. (Revlon conflicted with department store channels)

Channel of 1+ independent producers, wholesalers or retailers. Seeking to max. its own profits only.
What is Vertical Marketing System (VMS)?
Distribution channel in which producers, wholesalers or retailers act as unified system.
What is Corporate VMS?
A VMS that combines successive stages of production and distibution under single ownership.
What is Contractual VMS?
A VMS in which independent firms at diff. levels of production & Distribution join toghter thru contracts.
