What happens if there is too much Na+ in the blood?
|
Na goes through distal tubule where the macula densa cells sense how much Na has gone through. This info is sent via adenosine or prostaglandins to juxtaglomerular cells which inhibit the release of renin. This leads to less filtration of Na.

What happens if there is too much perfusion pressure?
|
Perfusion pressure determines the diameter of juxtaglomerular cells. When there is too much pressure, j cells inhibit release of renin. This blood is filtered back into the body.

Inhibits renin release - negative feedback
