Responsibility of Health Promotion
The sectors are: National level – providing coordination and leadership of all sectors State level – develops healthy public policy, provides information to the public, develop frameworks for the public to follow Private – promote health in conjunction with the government and provide a safe working environment. Community – address the social determinants and provide support for community groups and priority population groups. Individuals – should take personal responsibility for their own health
Role of Health Care Facilities in Achieving Better Health (Commonwealth Gov)
1. Commonwealth Government is concerned mainly with the formation of health policies and control of financing the public health system (Medicare) and the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme through the collection of taxes (Public Health Sector).

2. State Government provides health services such as hospital service, mental health programs, dental services, home and community care, child, adolescent and family health services (Public Health Sector).

3. Private Health Sector provides a wide range of services such as private hospital, dentists and alternative medicine (Private Health Sector).

The role of Health Care
The role of Health Care system in Australia is to achieve a delicate balance between resources for prevention and resources for treatment. The most important feature of health care is that equity of access to health services is important in health and well-being of all Australians.
Medicare
- Introduced in 1983 - Is partly funded by all tax payers who pay a levy - Medicare is designed as a universal system, which is equitable to all, and is simple to use
