- Hard to move forces from one end of the UK, to Normandy quickly.- Cannot utilise Dover to Flanders crossing as not in Normandy region.- Normandy had many borders so these had to be controlled tightly.
What was the threat posed to William through his son Robert and King Philip?
Philip felt threatened by William because he was such a strong Duke, and had the potential to take over France as a country. Robert had several arguments with his father, thus, went against him to join Philip in trying to overthrow William.
