What are the importance of MMDST?
|
• To screen if the developmental milestone of the child is appropriately developed for his/her age.
• To know the capability of the child at his/her age
• To know how the personal-social, fine motor adaptive, language and gross motor develops.
• Measures to developmental delays.

State guidlines in MMDST.
|
GUIDELINES:
1. Nurses must be prepared and must be well equipped with knowledge. 2. Establish rapport before the test. 3. Record and note the result findings. 4. Present the result of the screening to the family using culturally sensitive and family centered approach. 5. Determine the cause of delays and refer to appropriate consultant for determination, screen hearing and vision to rule out sensory impairments. 6. Be available to families to interpret consultant’s findings. |
