Artithmetic Sequence
A list of numbers with a definite pattern. If you take any number in the sequence then subtract it by the previous one, and the result is always the same (or constant).
Rate of Change
A rate that describes how one quantity changes in relation to another quantity.
Term
A single number or variable, or numbers and variables multiplied together.
Constant
In an expression or equation has a fixed value and does not contain variables.
X-intercept
A point at which a graph intersects the x-axis. ( __,0)
Slope
A number that describes both the direction and the steepness of the line. Slope is often denoted by the letter m.
Linear equation
An algebraic equation in which each term is either a constant or the product of a constant and (the first power of) a single variable. The graph will always be in the form of a line.
Standard form
An linear equation in the from of Ax+By=C, where where A is always positive and A, B, and C are integers
Common difference
The constant you add to a term in an arithmetic sequence to get the next term
Slope intercept form
Y=mx+b
Point slope form
Y-y1=m(x-x1)
Y-intercept
the point where a graph intersects the y-axis. (0, __ )
