Illegal Drugs
These drugs can be very dangerous and fatal. They can destroy your physical, social, and mental health. The government monitors foods and legal drugs for our safety, nobody monitors illegal drugs, they can be mixed with unkown chemicals that change a drugs' effects. A person can never know the strength of an illegal drug before taking one. There is no good reason for risking taking a drug.
Marijuana
Marijuana is a gateway drug, which means it introduces you to trying other drugs. Marijuana has different names, such as pot, weed, grass, and bud. This drug is often smoked from a rolled up paper called joint. It can make people nervous, raise their heart rate, and it increases a person's risk of developing infections. It can also damage the lungs, by building up tar and other dangerous substances in them.
Inhalants
Inhalants are chemicals that have strong toxic odors, for example, glue, paint, or nail polish remover. Inhaling/ breathing these fumes makes people feel lightheaded. Some people abuse these odors for fun, but inhalants can also cause dizziness, nosebleeds, nausea, headaches, and in some cases, death. Inhalants damage the brain, heart, liver. stomach, lungs, and kidneys. It can also prevent from hearing and it blocks the airways.
Anabolic Steroids
Anabolic steroids are drugs that are used to build muscles. These drugs are legal when they are prescripted by doctors. They are illegally abused by some people just to improve their athletic ability. Steroids cause fast weight gain, muscle growth, strokes/ heart attacks, kidney tumors, serious acne, and dangerous behaviour. These drugs can cause facial hair and deepening of voice in women.
Stimulants and Depressants
Stimulants and depressants affect the body in opposite ways. Stimulants speed up the brain and the heart, while depressants slow them down. Stimulants can raise the heart beat, blood pressure, and brain activity.They can speed up the body too much, that they can cause heart attacks/strokes and even death. Caffeine and cocaine are examples of stimulants. Depressants slow down the heart beat and brain activity, that it is hard for the body to pump blood or get oxygen. This can cause a coma, breathing failure, and death. Alcohol and sleeping pills are examples of depressants.
Other Illegal Drugs
Some illegal drugs can change how a person's senses work. Hallucinogens are strong drugs that make people hear or see what does not exist. They can also cause anxiety and depression. Opiates are a group of drugs that are made from poppy flowers. They are used as medicines to treat severe pain. All opiates slow heart rate, breathing, and brain activity. Heroin is an illegal opiate that is very dangerous and can be fatal.
