Large scale natural or man-made catastrophic events causing great damage, destruction and human suffering that overtax the resources of individuals and their communities.

Classification of Disasters
|
Disasters differ in scope, intensity and duration. Scope refers to the number of people and structures affected. Intensity refers to the severity of the impact. Duration refers to the length of time that people are affected.
