What is your nervous system?
Your nervous system coordinates your behavior. Your nervous system carries electrical signals(impulses). They travel from 1-120 metres per second.
What are Hormones?
Hormones are chemical messages. They are screted and released by special glands in your body. These hormones then go to their target organ in the bloodstream.
Any changes in your body are known as? What cells are they usually picked up by?
Changes in your body are known as stimulus they are picked up by cells called receptors. Receptors are found clustered together in special sense organs.
What are neurones?
Neurones are special cells which pass information (as electrical impulses) . They are activated once a sensory receptor detects a stimulus.
What is the Central Nervous System(CNS) is made of?
It is mainly made up of the Spinal Cord & the brain.
What is the meaning of sensory neurone?
 Sensory neurone is the cell which carries impulses from your sense organs to your central nervous system.
What are motor neurones?
Motor Neurones are cells which carry information from the CNS to the rest of your body.
What are the effector organs?
Effector organs are muscles or glands. Your muscles respond to the arrival impulses contracting, and your glands respond by secreting(releasing) chemical substances.
How can your nervous system be summed up?
RECEPTOR -> Sensory Neurone -> Co-ordinator(CNS) -> Motor Neurone -> Effector.
