Primary Function of DNA
STORE INFORMATION The DNA that makes up genes controls developement and characteristics of different kinds of organisms. In order to grow, your body must be able to read your DNA to do what it needs to do in order to make you grow and develope the way you are supposed to.
Second Function of DNA
COPYING INFORMATION You need to be able to make more DNA, which you can do by copying it. Cells can divide into more cells because my body can make copies of my DNA.
Third Function of DNA
PASSING ALONG INFORMATION You must be able to pass on genetic information to a child.
