-Fact: Easily proven true or false, avoid absolutes. -Opinion: Use absolutes such as never and always. Uses emotional words.

-Broad: generally optimistic, or generally pessimistic -Focused: very narrow view. example: Travelling to school costs too much money due to the increase in gas prices.

What is an assumption?

-Your judgement made by your perpective. Perspective shapes your assumtion of situations (i.e. there is only one successful way to be a family; due to the fact that you only have had a mom, to you, this is the only way to create a good family)

-Can be taught by: Brainstorming, Challenging the topic, Surround yourself with creative people and places.

-Ask questions, such as, how and why do I feel this way? -Solution is corrected based on cause not effect (i.e. instead of icing the neck with an ice pack and continue... adjust level of computer so your neck isn't strained)
