Age 4, Child describes themselves in one dimension. Their descriptions are isolated without logical connections and they cannot consider multiple aspects of self. They only consider one at a time. Consider one aspect of themselves at a time

5-7 years. Child starts to make a connection between their abilites, likes and dislikes. They also start to like their abilities to their future "I like to build, so I want to be an engineer" Very positive description, dont include areas where they dont excel

Stage 2: Representational Mapping
|
Middle childhood, child begins to integrate specific features of themselves and their capabilities into their self concept. Begin to see multidimensional aspects of themselves.

How a person feels about themselves. The evaluative part of self concept that expresses their overall worth. Tied to judgements. Parents are very positive toward children, thus the child self esteem reflects attitude. All or none
