Chapter 3 : Network Topology

STAR TOPOLOGY is a topology that used communication devices as a central devices to connect all the computer and devices in the network .

BUS TOPOLOGY is a topology that used backbone or trunk as a main cable to connect all computer in the network and also used t-connector to connect computer in the network and also have terminator to strop signals after they have reach the end of the wire

RING TOPOLOGY is a topology that logical ring where the data travels in circular fashion from one computer to another computer on the network .

NETWORK TOPOLOGY is physical layout of computer , cables and other components on a network .

* Requires more cable 9 if to connect more computer and other devices )* More difficult to implement* A central connecting device allows for a single point of failure .

* Network disruption when computers are added or removed* A break in the cable will prevent all systems from accessing the network .* Difficult to troubleshoot .

* Expansion to the network can cause network disruption* A single break in the cable can disrupt the entire network
