Front Back
What is a cytoplasm?what is its function?
It is atransparent jelly like material which fils the cell between nuceus and cell membrane.it is a kind of chemical factory of the cell.most of the chemical reactions which keep the cell alive take place in cytoplasm..it has many tiny structures called organelles.the most prominent organelle in the cytoplasm is the nucleus.besides nucleus some of the organelle are mitochondria , golgi bodies etc.the cytoplasm and nucleus make up cytoplasm
What is a protoplasm?name the four elements which make up major part of protoplasm
The cytoplasm and the nucleus together are known as protoplasm.it includes cytoplasm , nucleus and other organelles.it is made up of four elements:carbon , hydrogen , nitrogen and oxygen..some of the compounds present in protoplasm are water , carbohydrates ,proteins , fats , nuclic acid and mineral salts.
What is a unicellular organisms?name 2 unicellular organisms
The organisms which are made up of only one cell are called unicellular organisms.it is a single celled organims.it performs all the necessary life function only with one cell.they behave as a complete organism eg: amoeba, paramecium
What is a multicellular organisms?name two multicellular organis/
The organisms which are made up of many cells are called multicellular organisms.depending upon the size multicellular organisms may be made of millions , billions or trillions cell.most of the plant and animal cell are multicellular organisms.eg-a rose plant , a human being
Draw a general diagram of an animal cell and label it
Answer
Draw a general diagram of a plant cell and label it
Answer
Explain why chloroplasts are found only in plant cells
· it is a green coloured organelle present in the cytoplasm of plant cells.

· the process of photosynthesis takes place in chloroplasts .

· it contains a green pigment called cholorophyll which absorbs the sunlight.

· in the chloroplast the water and cabon dioxide mix together in presence of sunlight to produce food.
· it helps in the making of food by green plants thats why it is found in plant cells

An amoeba cell can change its shape and white blood cell in human blood can also change its shape .what is the difference between an amoeba cell and a white blood cell
Amoeba cell White blood cell it is a full fledged organism capable of independent existence it is a merely cell of human blood which is not full fledged organism it exist independently it can exist only inside the blood
Out of amoeba cell and white blood which one is

a. eukaryotic cell

b. prokaryotic cell
Amoeba is a eukaryote because it has a distinct nucleus which is bound by nuclear membrane

white blood cell is a prokaryote as it does not have distinct nucleus.

State the difference betweena plant cell and an animal cell
Plant cell Animal cell It has a cell wall around it It does not have a cell wall around it Photosynthetic plant cell has chloroplasts in it. other plants have different plastids in them An animal cell does not have chloroplasts or other plastids It has a large vacuole It may or may not have vacuole.
Which of the following are prokaryotic cells and which are eukaryotic cells?

amoeba cell, bacterium cell, human cheek cell, blue green algae cell , onion peel cell
Prokaryotic cell - bacterium cell , blue green algae cell

eukaryotic cell-amoeba cell , ,human cheek cell, onion cell
