What is the axial skeleton?
It is composed of the bones along the central axis of the body; divided into the skull, the verebral column, and the thoracic cage
What is the main purpose of the axial skeleton?
To form a framework that supports and protects the organs
What is hemopoietic tissue?
The spongy bone of most of the axial skeleton; responsible for blood cell formation
